Hi, and thank you in advance for trying to help. I just bought a new Visor Prism and have been trying to get it to use my desktops Cable modem connection for internet access. I've installed a palm web browser already too, btw. I'm using Windows XP, and my Visor has a USB cradle not a serial one. I've gone into preferences and into the connection screen and created a new connection with these attributes: Name= Cradle and Connection Method = USB to PC, and left the defaults under the "details" 57,600 and auto. I then went into NETWORK under the preferences area and create a new service called: Direct to Net, left user name blank and password set to -prompt-, then I chose "cradle" from the connections available...this is the one I set up above...the details for this one are default as well, but are: conn. type= PPP, idle time out = Power off, Query DNS = checked , IP address = checked for automatic. I then tap on the connect and it quickly goes to the signing on window and my desktop plays a little sound file to let me know that something is going on, but the screen eventually changes to Error: PPP timeout (0x1231) and thats as far as I can get! I am at my witts end with this...dont know what else to try! any help will be greatly appreciated!
