Message:Well, I broke my Rex Pro5(aka Rex 5001) after a couple of
years of service...It was sad;-( I was extremely careful
with it, but It was broken while in my front shirt pocket
while moving some tables and chairs... It was in its' little
leather jacket, but it offered little protection. Not sure
exactly what happened, but noticed it was cracked shortly
after moving the chairs and tables. It was'nt dropped, but
must have gotten smacked somewhere along the way.
Desision Time: Buy a Rex 5001 or buy a 6000??? I liked the
new features of the 6000, but was scared away by the reports
on this board and from the information on Dana's site. I
decided that Better Syncing, Longer Battery Life, and better
Speed and Reliability, of the 5001 were more important then
the the touch screen, calculator, programbility, extra
memory, and supposed web features of the 6000.
I ended up buying two 5001's from Ubid for ~$35 each
including shipping... Now I'll have a back up for when I
break it again, because I just know it's going to happen.
Maybe after I break these two Rexes Intel will be on their
2nd or 3rd generation of the Rex 6000. And have some of the
many bugs worked out... That's if they don't drop the line
all together.
Don't get me Wrong I love my Rex, but durability is its #1
problem. It sure would be nice if the case were something
other the plastic...So Cheap...
I won't buy a Palm or its' brethern because for me it would
just get left on my desk... To bulky for me...
Just My Two Cents, for what it's worth. Probably about a
penny...
