I am unaware of any plans Nokia has on implementing GPRS in future models of their communicator. The 9290 does work with and is designed for any GSM 1900 data network and if the network has the capacity, can operate at speeds up to 14,400. I believe that Nokia developed the 92xx range prior to the emergence of GPRS and therefore did not incorporate that service in the phone. You could say that Nokia really missed the boat on that one.
