The new Z-em@il program should be about the same size as the old one -- just delete the old one and install the new one. You can install it either into Flash (as long as you've set up enough of it for programs) or main memory.
Also, check your settings on your email, and modem (especially modem speed). If the internal modem was working, then your ISP must have changed something, so check with them as well.
