Hello,I can try to help you out on your first question you had posted.
I use the Sharp EA-23A A/C Adaptor on my ZR-3000 for external power. The EA-23A can be used on all ZR-3XXX and ZR-5XXX models. I had tried to purchase a generic adaptor at various electronics stores (Staples, Office Max, Radio Shack, etc.) but could not find the correct one. You could try an auction site such as Ebay (that is where I got mine) or call Sharp Electronics direct at 1-800-BE-SHARP and go to the tech. support option. I don't suggest using any A/C Adaptor since you could do internal damage to your Zaurus.
The correct specs on the Sharp EA-23A A/C Adaptor are:
In-120v ac, 60Hz, 6w
Out-8.5v DC, 350mA
