Hi, Podman,Careful, don't mix the two things: a direct cable connection b/w your Z and your printer is different than WizPrint, which is essentially a software conduit to your printer.
If you were using WizPrint, you'd install it on your PC, print from the Z (using "cable connection"), and what WizPrint does is pick up the print signal from the Z and then send it to your printer.
It's five-years-old and still an excellent piece of programming. I can actually use it with my Jornada, though not with IrDA. But I can use WizPrint to print with my ZR-3500x (same specs as your 3000) via IrDA to my Dell laptop built-in IrDA port.
