Hi Jakfish,

So it may be the low current thing??? hmmmm......I'll give the 9-pin to USB thing a try tonight and update you. I have a Sharp CE-IR1 (which is a great little IR gaget), but this one time I was at a hotel and needed to print something and all they had were USB cabled printers (they had parallel ports but no parallel cables) so I had to run out and buy a parallel cable. So I'm just looking to prevent that from happening again.

I'll keep you updated.
