Message:I got a davinci dv2. By chance i did not bought it but it was offered to me. So i do'nt feel attached to it because i did not choosed it or invest any money in that piece of ...hardware. This product is supposed to be a palmtop is'nt it ? my dv 2 came without the keyboard and i must say the writing recognition script is just crap compare to a palm. Royal is aware of that so they sell it now with a small keyboard ...What a lazy solution could'nt they have improved the software ? And worse there ain't any downloadable software for it.... By chance i already own a Psion 5 and there is no comparison possible between the two products. Sincerely i think that actually the davinci is just a piece a crap maybe not because of the hardware but of the software. The only hope i still have for that thing is that the good people on this board manage to write some good softs and this without any support from Royal.
But i'm affraid because of royal unable to let a out a good SDK this will not happen. The Davinci is just so disapointing....
If you're looking for an electronic diary,agenda etc better buy a small sharp or casio digital assistant. If you're looking for a palmtop try a palm(they now have cheap ones) or a vtech helios and if you're looking for an astonishing electronic assistant get a psion. The davinci is a bad product and even when it's come for free....
