Official Psion Software to Change Netbook Identity

Malay Netbook Owners

Psion supplied me with some software when my Netbook lost it's identity, would this convert a Malay Netbook as it re-writes the EEROM?

The Psion instructions with the software shown below.

Here are the files, the comment that went with them when they originally went out was:

This is a consequence of the EEROM not being set correctly. Please accept our apologies for this.

From the System Screen, type Shift-Ctrl-Q to see the machine information. The Machine Type should be "netBook", but is likely to be a selection of odd characters on your machines.

To rectify this, install and run the attached programs, then reboot your machine from cold - ie. remove all batteries, including the back up battery, then re-insert.

Put DAE2KE.LDD in \system\libs\ directory on any drive, and put SetNB.EXE in the root of the drive. Then run SetNB.EXE. Finally, reboot your machine and type Shift-Ctrl-Q again to check that it has worked.

It is doubtful as the problem MBook owners are experiencing, is caused by the bootloader, which is found on the personality module. The Eprom, which is reprogrammed by the two files that you were sent is found on the Motherboard.

In addition to this, I think it has already been tried as the files are readily available on the Psion Teclogix website.

Thanks for you input though.

Regards

Si
