anyone have any idea what is the registry entry in the HPC Pro 3.01 for the Pocket Internet Explorer? i m trying to find the entry so i can edit it to pretend its a internet explorer 4.0 instead of a CE machine agent...i know hpc2000 has the regking but i cant find an auto registry editor for my jornada 680...
cheers...

Here's a great editor:
http://www2r.biglobe.ne.jp/~tascal/download/hpc/regedit_e.htm
Unfortunately, there is no HPC entry for changing PIE version, only with PPC

As I noted earlier, there is NO registry entry in HPC that allows you to change PIE version numbers.
The hack you are referrring to works only with PPC models.

Is there a beter IE explorer availble for the HPC PRO users that use a SH$ processor?

The only other HPC SH3 browser I know of is Conduits Pocket Browser:
http://www.conduits.com/products/browser/
I've never used it, but suspect that it suffers the same limitations as PIE.
You might want to try it . . . who knows . . . maybe you'd find it's features better than PIE.

Well, you are not right. There is a difference between the HPC 2000 and PPC 2000 or 2002, the User Agent for IE in the HPC 2000 handheld is splited in two places. You have to change it in both of them.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings]
"GlobalUserOffline"=dword:00000000
"User Agent"="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; Q312461; .NET CLR 1.0.3705) "
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent]
"Platform"="Windows NT 5.1"
"Version"="MSIE 6.0"
"Default"="Mozilla/4.0"
"Compatible"="compatible"
"UA-Language"="JavaScript"
This is a copy of mine pretending to be MSIE 6.0 in my HP 720
But I don't know it the 680 has the same registry keys
:confused:
I'm currently trying to port Tweaks2k2 (http://www.pc-counselor.com/downloads.htm) for PPC to HPC 2000. :)

The request for for the hack for a CE2.11 device, not HPC2000.
I'm 100% certain this is no equivilent hack for CE2.11 devices, but would love for someone to prove me wrong.

check if you can install a regedit from www.phm.lu and then export the whole registry file. That's what I need.
I'm sure that almost 99.9 % of all the tricks will work in 2.11 but I need that file to create a version for that OS.

If this is the case, what are the tweaks needed for H/PC Pro (CE 2.11) ??????????

I looked at your site and could only see a product for HPC2000, what about HPC pro (CE2.11) ???? What registry tweaks are needed for it to show that it has IE5.5?

Check www.pc-counselor.com/j720.htm
But, I never have checked the registry for H/PRO so you will have to find out if you can applied that trick in your device. ;)

I have tried looking for "user agent" in my registry and that could not be found. I then added the the registry lines for "user agent" and that did nothing as far as allowing access to the sites I could not get before.I also did a search for "Mozilla" and that did not come up either.
