I am considering buying a Treo 90,

I have used a Palm VX for a long time and enjoy it as well.

On the Treo 90:

It says it used the Palm Desktop software. Is this the identical Palm Desktop that is offered by Palm? Or is it a Clone of it? Don't understand how other mfrs. can offer the same software?

From reading this forum, I understand Treo 90 does not work with Palm Desktop 4.1 (The latest version?).

Is everyone pleased with the Desktop version that comes with Treo 90. I used the original Ver 3.x Palm Desktop for long time, too.

Thanks for useful comments.

Just use the Palm Desktop that came with the Treo90. It is pretty much the same as the Palm version. There are minor differences between the Handspring and Palm versions.

I put in the Handspring version that came with my Prism. My wife's Palm m500 wouldn't work with it. It put in the (newer) Palm version that came with the m500. Both PDAs work with it.

It is a different story with the Sony version, just because they put in so many unique features and software.

The treo 90 has been discontinued by Handspring so my guess is now would be a good time to get a great deal on one if you still want it!

They have not replaced it and I believe they have no plans to replace it as they plan to focus more on the smartphone communicator category and are moving away from organizers. If you look at the treo90 at HS is says right there that it is no longer avail from them.
quote from HS:
"No longer available directly from Handspring."

Thanks.

I did notice the "discontinued" after you informed me.

I found a good sight. www.wapsight.com. I like how they keep the side frames constant with info in the middle.

I also noticed from the wapsight review that SMS is only one way on the Treo 300. Receive only. You have to go to a web sight to go the other way.
