Hi
I am new to this board. I love my mseries 3 Psions but I now have a growing collection of 3a/3mx's with only one problem - the dreaded screen cable!
Does anyone know a supplier of spare cables for self repair?
I know POS do "screen repairs" but the cost is in excess of the second hand cost of series 3's.
It seems such a shame to let such good machines go unused.
Thank you

Welcome to Psion Place. :)
I have asked POS in the past, and they do supply screen cables for DIY repairs. They do, of course, advise caution, and accept no responsibility for any resulting problems.
I gather it can be a bit of a tricky operation, but I guess if you have several ailing Psions it's definitely worth a try.
I seem to recall they quoted about 15 UKP for a cable on its own.

Thanks Julie
I hadn't thought to ask them 'cos theeir web site makes a specific point that they do not provide spares.
I will give them a go

I received a reply from POSLtd to my query "can you a)sell me a cable and b)if I send you the screen can you solder the cable for me".
The reply was:
Hi Chris
We wouldn't be in a position to add just the cable to the LCD module for you - this is beyond the terms of our repair service - but we can supply a cable
at £15 GBP + £5 GBP p&p within the UK (all inc VAT).
If you want to order a cable you can call us on 08707 52 9246 with credit card details.
Regards
Does anyone feel like soldering expert? (Not me, I hasten to add!)
