hoo, boy.

i am probably making yet another daft inquiry...please forgive! i am still finding my feet with the whole pda/palm os thing...blame it on the learning curve...???

...okay. i was just trying to get fireviewer and avantgo set up on my treo 90 (w/ palm os 4.1). so i have an sd card, and figured i ought to use it to store apps., files, images, etc. as frequently as possible to save memory on the actual handheld unit. but attempts to install both of the above onto the card and then get them to launch properly met with (*sob*) dismal failure...(could not view any of the sample images that came with the fireviewer install., etc.).

my question: are there simply some apps. that must be installed on the handheld proper to execute successfully, and if so, does that mean that accompanying files (i.e.: images to be viewed with fireviewer) cannot be saved separately on the sd card and then viewed?

any thoughts would be met with abject gratitude...!!! lol...

For using Fireviewer with pictures on the expansion card you need to do the following:

- you need a version of Fireviewer that is VFS capable(go to their website)
- when you convert the pictures, in the fireconverter, make sure you disable the conduit, so you can save on your hard drive.
- with a card reader/writer, transfer your saved file on the card.
- in the Fireviewer options click switch local/removable and voila, you have acces to as many pictures or movies as you want.

Hope this helps.
