i realize this is broad, but i've had good experiences with newsgroups and discussion groups.
i'm the new owner of a used iPaq 3630. that is, my boss, an avid mac fan, just dumped it in my lap, complete with a 192 MB CF card.
it appears that the battery is dead, since it works with AC, and after charging for 4 hours, it cuts off immediately without AC. a light flashes yellow when it's plugged in.
i'd like for someone magnanimous to explain to me how to go about upgrading the machine to current standards and new battery, with approximate costs.
i assume i'm running WinCE (?) and not PPC2000 or 2002, although i don't know how to determine that. i also have no idea what my ROM is, or how to determine it. i did successfully install activesync 3.5 on my desktop, and can access the iPaq without problem.
if it matters, i'm running XP on all my other computers.
this seems like a nice $300 device that I'm willing to invest in, if it is worth it.
thanks,
