hi all,
i have a nokia 6210 & i'm thinking of upgrading to a 6310i for bluetooth. has anyone had experience with this pairing? if so please advise with the pros & cons.
i want to stay with nokia since my 6210 has served me well for about 2 years now, never locked up once, i'll never buy an ericsson again! my wife has a r380s & i used to have a t29 (i think), both phones continually lock up even after being repaired, a few friends have also had bad experiences with ericsson, anyway i had a look at the 68i & it looks & feels plasticky (is that a word?).
is the 6310i the best nokia for blutooth?
thanks in advance,
Andy

for me the best bluetooth nokia fone is the nokia7650...
i try to send an image via bluetooth using t68i and it took me minutes to receive it.. when i used the nokia7650 its just a coouple of seconds,,,, this is celfone to celfone...am not sure with palm devices...
also try nokia 3650 is also has bluetooth and camera... :)

thanks for the reply,
both those phones look pretty good, especially the 3650,
the 3650 doesn't seem to be out yet here in oz, they're a bit pricey compared to the 6310i !
i'm still veering towards the 6310i since it looks & feels so much like my 6210 & i don't really need a camera or advanced organiser functions since i already have a TT.

The Nokia 6310i works brilliantly here in the UK with my Tungsten.
However:
1: I'm sure this is the case with all Nokia Bluetooth phones. Once you've set up the pairing wuith the Tungsten, tell the phone not to request connection authorisation from the PDA. Otherwise it defeats the object of Bluetooth, as you have to remove the phone from your pocket to accept the connection every time you want it to dial!
2: Switch off "Warning Tones" on the 6310i. Again, this is probably the same with all Nokias. If you use the instant dialling from the address book feature, the Tungsten connects to the phone and then disconnects immediately as soon as it has sent the dial command. Every time the Tungsten disconnects the phone beeps loudly unless you turn the warning tones off.
Other than that - enjoy!

here is an email from one of my groups at yahoo.... hope it would help...
I have borrowed a nokia 6310i from a colleague and have had problems. First the
phone had an old version of the rom/bluetooth so i had only 0.5 secs to enter
the pairing code. Once entered it still would not respond when dialing out. Ive
tried downloading all the latest patches from the palm web site. Still no
further forward. Im still not sure if its the palm or the phone. Will try a new
6310i at my local phone shop later in the week. Anyone else had similar
problems.

leedscon - I've got both a 6310i and a TT and was able to connect the first time. I was also able to get to my.yahoo.com page, and I started surfing right away. While it was a little slower then DSL, just the fact that I could get to the net from my TT was cool.
i even tried walking away from the phone and found that the 30 foot, 10 meter radius is about right (that's with no other obstructions in the way).
The tips that jamesc are on the money. i started wondering why the phone was beeping all the time until i found out is was my warning tones.
Good luck with your new phone and TT.

Hi !
I used to have a 6210 and I changed it for 6310i 3 months ago. Santaklauss was very generous with me this year : he brought me a wonderful Tungsten ...
Connecting both devices was very easy and it works very well with the GPRS access I have subscribed to for my mobile (SFR in France). The only bad point is for SFR, the network is often busy ...
So go ahead ! :)
