i have a problem with my m505. a few days ago a blemish appeared on the surface. i thought it was dust and tried to clean it with no success. i got in touch with palm and they told me it is a standared 110pounds to either replace OR repaire. What gives? does any know of a cheaper solution. i have had a look around and seen complete screen replacements to do yourself and also digitisers but i dont think this is my problem as the scratch/blemish is sat right on the front plate which i think is only plastic. i have seen replacement cases too, this may be my solution but can you not just get the plastic screens? Excuse me if im being totally dumb. i would appreciate your help

Is the blemish on the screen, on the grafitti area, or on the casing?
How big is the blemish? I have seen smudges on screens that looked bad, but were not that noticeable when in use.
If it is on the metal casing, I would say don't worry about it unless you are really concerned about the way it looks.
If it is on the screen or grafitti area, if it doesn't really impede your use of the unit I would just live with it unless, again, you couldn't stand the way it looks.
Otherwise,

has replacement screens and casings for the do-it-yourselfer.
Let us know so we can be a little more specific for you!

You could purchase and apply a screen protector, which should mask the smudge to a certain extent as well as helping to prevent future occurances.
Or you could try to wax it out. "DrMud" offered the following suggestion in a different thread:
"...use a high quality automotive Wax. Not a polish that has abrasives, but a good Carnuba based wax. Just a little. You can even put it on the screen if you don't use a screen protector. Just don't allow excess wax to build around the edges. Put a small amount in the middle of the screen and work to the outside edges. I use a Scotch Brite 3M Micro fiber cloth just as I use on my camera lenses."
Good luck!:)

Alex there is a scratch remover called "Displex" it is designed to be used removing scratches from the plastic on Cell phone screens. In my expereince it works great on cell phones and has only a modest effect on the Palm screen. Check with local Cell Phone shops. Perhaps shops that lease or rent cell phones and would want to clean the screens between users.

PS: I beleive the Displex is made in Germany.
