My Netbook's mains adapter is knackered! When I plug it into the psion the re-charge light flickers on for a second, then dies. wiggling the actual power pack around in the wall socket sometimes brings it to life - but with a nasty sizzling sound. Then it dies a few seconds later.

Anybody know what these are symptoms of? Is it fixable?
(NB: Warranty is long gone)

Thanks,
D

I have no idea, but it sounds rather worrying. If it were me, I'd cut my losses and get a new one quick! netBook can't survive very long without it, after all. :(

sounds like a dodgy connection to the circuitboard inside the power supply. If you want to repair it, its a simple case of opening up the 'wall-wart', finding the broken connection, and re-soldering it.

Like Julie says though - do it quick or you'll risk data loss; do a full backup now!
