Debug mode/OS upgrade

I was trying to set my Palm in Debug mode for OS upgrade (as it failed to do so through standard procedure), but my PDA would refuse to anything different from regular reset, thus completely ignoring depressed Down scroll button. Anybody else had this kind of problem? Any solution?

Unfortunately Your profile does not include "location", so I can not see, whether You are in the US or elsewhere.
If Your Palm is the international version (EFIGS), it will not enter debug mode. I was instructed to do so from Palm support, when they should have told me, that the system upgrade was only for american users, and it refused to react even after repeated trials. It seems that the debug feature is exclusive for american Palms?
On the whole I feel that Palm is showing damned little attention for users non resident in the US!
To get proper attention and service I am planning to buy my next Palm, when I visit the states.
If Your Palm is the US-english version I have no advise to offer.

I have US Palm. My issue was resolved by removing the password from the handheld. Palm OS 4.1 Now!
