I have a Compaq iPAQ 3850. Yesterday I charged the battery to 98%. This morning when I clicked the power button nothing happened. I had to reset the device and when I did all my data is gone. Luckily I had done a backup, so I set up the Pocket PC on the cradle, ActiveSync sees it as Guest and I performed a restore. About half way through the restore a message pops up on the Pocket PC -

Application filesys.exe has performed an illegal operation.

Program: filesys.exe
Exception: 0xc0000005
Address: 01fc7b24

Do you want to debug? (Clicking No will shut down the application)

I could not click Yes or No my Pocket PC is locked up and my PC still looks as if it is restoring but the progress bar is not moving.

I hope someone can help with this.

I don't know the answer--but I can tell you that I have had excellent email support from HP (which bought Compaq). You can go to their web site www.hp.com -- and locate contact support--send your question--they usually respond within 24-48 hours. Absolutely exceptional support.
