hey does anyone know why when I change my batterys on my m105 it just resets and then all the data is gone??
I know its not because I leave the batterys out for longer than 1min cos it only takes about 10sec to change them.
As soon as I put them I without even pressing anything it just resets??!!??
Please help!!

just do a hotsync when you change them and do another one after you change them

hi, mine does exactly the same thing. It's most likely the capacitor inside the palm which holds the data when changing batteries. make sure you hotsynch before changing and straight after, although you will have to put your programs back in their categories. eg main, games, utilites, etc. pain in the proverbial?

Well when you remove the power source, there's always going to be a chance of losing your data. Try keeping one battery in the unit at all times. If that doesn't work, then just hotsync before and after replacing your batteries.

I rang Palm support and they said "change one battery at a time" so I tried that and as soon as i just changed one battery the palm would reset and all the data was lost.
I rang back and the guy I spoke to that time said it doesn't make any difference whether you change one battery at a time or not, and in the end he organised for the shop I bought it from to send away to get fixed.
Anyway thanx for your help every one.

This is not nescessary if you have installed this program sync all
http://www.geocities.com/s_laiblin/palm/index-2.html#syncall
Its sets everytime you reset your palm the backup bit and after your next hotsynch really everything is backed up.
