I'm a fairly new Palm user looking for the best way to get to the internet on the road. I have AT&T wireless service with a Nokia 5650 phone, but would consider changing for a better solution.

I'm not familiar with that phone. Does it have data service? Does it have Bluetooth capabilities or an infrared beam? This information will help you get an answer as soon as possible.

It is a fairly basic phone. It doesn't have any of the features you described, but I would be willing to get what I need for the most sanitary set-up.

Call AT&T for phone info and data service details. AT&T in the Bay Area does not have data service.

If it turns out that your phone does not support data service, you may be out of luck. If it simply does not have it, you can probably activate it. Because you say your phone is simple, the only solution for wireless internet is a cable.

Hope this helps.

I would recommend you ask your cellular network if they offer GPRS service. If they do, the best thing you can do would be to replace your phone with any Nokia GPRS enabled mobile phone which your cellular network may be offering.

Afterwhich, you can set up your mobile internet service through GPRS and you may surf the WEB using the Web Browser of your choice, Xinio, palmscape,Blazer, etc. All of them will allow you to surft the WEB but don't expect a totally IE look alike display of the site. Definitely it's not because the m130 has a 160x160 resolution.

For connecting your PALM to the internet via GPRS enabled phone, visit:

Thank you all for your help. I am going to be getting a Nextel unit from my company, and I've heard that they have data access, so that should get me started.

Thanks Again
