Hi,

Does anyone know how I can connect to the internet using the HP720, a Socket Bluetooh compact card, and a Sony Ericsson T68? When it dials out to my ISP, the phone attempts to dial out, but disconnects after 5-7 seconds and the message on the HP720 says, "Could not detect modem. Please verify number and try again".

Is there some special modem settings that I need? According to the Socketcom.com website, the settings should be at 115k, Parity 8, Stop Bits 1, None, Hardware = Hardware.

Also, Socketcom says that I should "Pair" the devices, but it won't connect or detect each other if I don't pair them.

Any suggestions would help.

Thanks,
Rolando

A story on the subject was published in the November 1998 issue of PocketPC Magazine.

I was able to peruse the archives online and print the story. The info is copyrighted so I can't reprint it here, but below is the link:

Good luck. I tried the procedure to try and get my MP780 working with a Nokia 6360 IR interface, and still no success. For that matter, the only circumstance that I have been able to use my IRDA port is with ActiveSync to my Win 98SE machine.

My apologies--I was a little to hasty. The story was for using IR, not Bluetooth.
