sync errors rpcrt4.dll

On trying to synchronize the psion 5mx to pc I get the error message :
SYNCAPP has caused a paging error in rpcrt4.dll contact your program supplier.
The prog used to work and I can connect and copy between pc and 5mx .
I tried to contact psion but it was expensive.
I reloaded psiwin 2.3, and also cleaned out the registry files.
Any ideas?

What operating system are you using? Did you just recently upgrade to Windows XP or Windows 2000? It sounds like a problem that may be cured by upgrading to PsiWin 2.3.3. You can download it here but it's a big file (~25 Mb) but you need it if you're running Win 2k or XP.

rpct4.dll is part of Windows. It has been updated with a couple of service packs and with security rollup packages. As Jim suggests, please post which version of Windows you are using, but if its 2K, then I suggest installing at least service pack 2, and perhaps all the security updates available at www.windowsupdate.com

Be careful not to install IE6 if you don't want it, nor automatic updating or update notification.
