Eudora connection problem on Palm (Handspring)

I have installed Eudora Internet Suite 2.1 on my Handspring Visor.
Both the browser and the mail application act like there is no
conection to the internet.
Also the AUS-WAP browser does not work.

I am using a GSM for the connection and the strange thing is that the connection itself should be ok because:

- I can 'ping' to any server
- Avantgo CAN make the connection

I hope anybody recognises this problem or can give me some direction.
