M125 and expansion cards

Hi...

A few weeks ago, I bought a Palm 125 and a SanDisk 128mb SD card. I tried to format the card using the Palm but gave up after two hours, the unit looked like it had froze.

I e mailed Palm who informed me that the current version of the OS cannot deal with large capacity cards like the one I got.

Any idea for a solution that would allow me to use the SD Card?

Have you installed the FATFS update to your m125? That's supposed to help with large capacity cards. It's available on the Palm site.

Hi...

Yes, I did install the patch from the Palm site. However, Palm Tech support advised me that current operating system (Palm 4.0) could not deal with large cards. It seems the patch allows for cards up to 64mb to work properly; cards larger than that do not work.

So it's confirmed, the M125 maxes out at 64 MB?

Hi...

I am not sure... it may be possible to format a card larger than 64mb for the Palm using card reader/writer but I can't confirm this since i don't have one.
