Hi,
I was wondering that how is it possible to convert simple text from msword or Notepad documents etc to .pdb format so that I could read it in Palm Reader (v 1.0). I have the palm reader (v 1.0)freeware installed on my Handheld which recognises only (DOC) format. And I am currently using M515.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated and thanks in Advance!!!

Try using iSiloX to convert your text and iSilo to read the resulting .pdb files. iSilo reads Palm "Doc" format documents, too.
iSiloX is a free download, and iSilo is a 15-day trial (I think), but if you don't register it, you can still use it with limited functionality. I think you lose expansion card support and hyperlinks, but it still reads converted text fine.
(I think there are free converters for Palm "Doc" format, too, if you want to stay with PalmReader.)

I've found the best converter for my own use is Qvadis Express Reader Pro (http://www.qvadis.com/expressreader/pro.html) which can convert from many types of formats to PalmDoc format.

There are different converters out there, just do a search. They range from freeware to $$. Some have a desktop companion. Some allow for online conversion. Check for platform too. Not too many mac ones.
What type of document do you wish to convert, type, size, contents will dictatate what will work best for you.
I use CSpotRun, PalmReader, Docs to Go, QuickOffice, FireViewer depending on the nature of the file (a Perry Mason novel, a PowerPoint file, something with graphics/motion or HTML).
There is a thread with the same topic on the palm m1xx section.

...PorDiBle. (http://pordible.ethelthefrog.net/).
It converts many different types of files to other types and is free (woohoo!) and works with Mac's.
Hope it helps.

Check this:
http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=5493
It's a freeware, tiny windows app, where you can simply copy/paste text and save it in Palm doc format. Then, just sync it to your palm and open it with palm reader, isilo, etc.
You can also open and edit .pdb files in palm doc format at your desktop.
