AUUUGGGGGGGGGgggghhhh what is up
has anyone expeirence their pc locking up and then not being able to soft/ hard reset??
Well the first day I got my e310 I downloaded Quake for the iPAQ. It worked just fine till I tried to change the res via the menu. It locked up hard and I didnt know about the reset button on the back yet and the power button didnt work. So I flipped the power supply switch at the bottom. That will reset your memory too so be aware. Its not much of a problem if you sync with your PC a lot.
Anyways flipping the power supply switch can get you out of just about any lock up. Other then my own silly mistake of trying software ment for an iPAQ I have not had any other lockups. It sounds like you just have the worst luck in the world. :(

If you have the Best Buy 3-year warranty they are required to replace the e310. If they can't replace it then they are required by the contract to give you something else of similiar value. Whoever told you "they won't order any more e310s" is wrong, talk to the manager. This is also an odd statement as the e310 sales are booming and the Best Buys around here are selling them as fast as free beer at a frat party.
I have had an e310, also from Best Buy, and it has worked flawlessly. Luck of the draw I suppose!

there should be no problem trying games or apps for the Ipaq on the e310 since both have Intel StrongARM SA-1110 206 MHz processors.
as for your experience with the e310 you bought at Best Buy, well it was just unlucky I guess. :(
Well there can be a problem running programs made with the iPaq in mind considering the screens are different sizes. That is where I found the problem, and this isnt a normal PocketPC program, it was a compile of Quake from IDs source code.
But normally, yes you are right. There is not difference between machines. If its writting for another processor type most times it wont run at all, rather then crash the PC.
