stress testing Treo 90 backlight

Hi, does anyone know how to stress-test the Treo 90 backlight, to hasten the appearance of the backlight problem? Leaving on all the time, or lots of on/off cycles? Thanks...

One would think "on/off" because "on all the time" would indicate a wear issue, which is not the case. I think it shows up after approx. 3 months.
