Hi, I am a new owner of h1910. Coming from PalmV, PPC crashes much too often for me... I dropped it, it freezes; plug in the sync cable while the computer starting up, it freezes; opening too many applications, it freezes... It's a love/hate relationship...

Anyway, could someone tell me when I will lose my data? Would soft reset (pushing the reset hole) damage my data? Would replacing the battery make the data disappear? What the use for the backup battery and how long does it last? Does the backup battery protect the user setting and data?

I am disappointed that noen of the manual address those issues.

Thanks, CJH

A soft reset will not cause data loss (unless you are editing a file which had not been save prior to the reset).
You should sync with the ActiveSync host routinely; every time you finish using the device would be optimal. You should set ActiveSync to backup each time the device syncs so you will always save the latest changes on the device. That way, if you have to do a hard reset (which will wipe memory), your next sync will restore the missing data from Outlook and your programs from your last backup.
Routine syncing and freqent backups will insure that you always have a method to restore your data and programs.
