I am using a Palm 3 C on my PC operating Windows ME. Ever since I plugged my serial Hotsync cable into the Com port it will only restart when I go to shutdown. Consequently, when I take the cable out it shuts down fine. Is there anything I can do besides pulling the cable out every time I want to shut down? Any help would be appreciated Palm.com wants 25 piggin dollars to answer my question

Doesn't look like a palm problem more like a windows one (not too starnge if you have ME)

check the serial drivers and settings for windows if everything is correct there, get rid of ME.
if there is an erro there correct it or reinstall the drivers and get rid of ME

God i love ME }:-)

Without going as far as suggesting to get rid of ME (a good suggestion, nonetheless), I also think the problem is not with your Palm but with Windows. I've used the serial cradle with laptops and desktops on Windows 95, 98, and 2000, but have not experienced any shutdown or restarting problems related to the Palm. (Oh, I've had my share of Windows problems, but that's for another forum...)
