When I try to connect, the computer does not recognize the USB connection although it states that USB is available.

What I've Got
-iPaq 3135
-PPC 2002
-ActiveSync 3.1 3.5 3.6 (have tried all of these
- Windows XP (just reinstalled)
-USB Connection

I have gotten it to work fine in the past, but I haven't been able to sync in the past couple of month. One key issue is that XP doesn't auto-detect the sync cable when I plug it in on any computer. Could the cable be defective even if it still provides power to the ipaq. I have followed every step microsoft has recommended.

Step I have Taken
-reset iPaq to factory settings
-tried syncing with activesync 3.1, newest build of 3.1, 3.5, and 3.6
-Freshly installed XP
-deactivated all firewalls and antivirus software
-removed all tweeks
-updated all drivers
-I have followed every step microsoft has recommended.


Any suggestions are appreciated. TIA

You need to make a partnership between you IPAQ and your Pc. After you have Achieve this, simply turn off your IPAQ and reboot your PC. Once your machine is rebooting, turn on your IPAQ. You should then have connectivity.
