Hi! I can access the software that came with my Palm m130 from my computer (Windows ME), but I can't access any of the software that I downloaded from the internet. I like to insert data to my computer and that HotSync it to my Palm. Can anyone help?

I like to insert data to my computer and that HotSync it to my Palm. this is going to depend on what it is that you want to move to your palm. if they are palm programs that you have downloaded then they should go straight to your install tool when you double click them, if its images or documents you need an app on your palm that can read what you are putting in there and you may need a converter on your desktop compouter.

It could also be that you need to UNZIP them before you can install. When you find your file there could be an icon of a file with a closed zipper on it. Right click on the file and then click "extract all." From here you need to go to the Palm Desktop, click on "install," choose the file, click "add," and then "ok." It should then say that the files will be installed during your next HotSync operation. Sync over and viola, should be installed.

I asked advice about this problem but did not make myself clear.
Why can't I access all of my Palm programs through my computer? I can access all the programs that came installed on my Palm m130, but any of the programs that I have downloaded from the internet can be accessed through my Palm but not through my computer. I like to use my computer to insert data to my Palm.

I don't know all the technical jargon to sound real nerdy, but to put it in normal language:

In order for you to enter data on your pc and have it sync to your pda you need to have an application that has its own pc application. Programs such as Palm Desktop or Due Yesterday or Quicken/Money are good examples, OR, you need to have an application such as Documents to Go or Microsoft Outlook that have pda conduits. It is possible to access other Palm applications on your pc, but this is a little out of my league. I have seen no beneficial uses to this so haven't learned how to do it.

This may not be an all-inclusive answer, but I hope it helps.
