HI, we use a cyrus imap server here for mail (c2000 mailboxes) and I want to know if anyone has made a connector for non-exchange/notes mail servers so that blackberry clients can retrieve mail?. I do not favour using the cradle-sync-to-mail-client solution but rather the server based solution.
I am in Europe over gprs, the mail server is imap compliant.
regards

It is not a Blackberry solution, but it will work with the RIM devices and a handful of other device types. Check out www.jarna.com. It works with Notes, Exchange, Iplanet, any IMAP server (specifically named...Cyrus). I do not sell this, but it is a great alternative to some of my customers that don't fall into the Notes/Exchange category. No desktop cradle needed...it wirelessly sync's contacts, calendar & email. Offers many of the same features the BES offers plus attachment viewing and more. Hope this helps....

Thanks Wirelessguy, will check that site (jarna.com)
Declan,
Check out Jarna Inc and Extended Sytems for a possible solution. I believe Extended have a UK office.
