I'd much appreciate help with the following.
I have a Psion 3a, and have just bought an iMac 700. Until now I've been backing up my 3a to a Powermac 5500/225 with OS 8.1, using PsiMac. Besides backing up, I was also copying my contacts database to a database file I had created on the Mac replicating the contacts page of the 3a, as well as copying other files, such as bibliographies of research projects to matching database pages I had created on the Mac, similarly with spreadsheet and Word files.
On the iMac managed to install the PsiMac software, from images of the three installation floppies copied to a CD, in OS 9.2 and, using a USB adapter, started up the link. The backup then took place allright and I can see my 3a folder in the PsiMac backups folder on the HD.
But every time I've tried to proceed to opening the RAMDRIVE by clicking on the icon on the Desktop, the action has either immediately frozen my screen (indeed, sometimes just the appearance of the RAMDRIVE icon has brouught immediate freeze, or I've managed to get as far as opening the RAMDRIVE desktop but without my being able to open any of the folders. Any attempt to pull down on the PsiMac menu and to click on Preferences or any other item, has immediately led to the machine freeezing. I've had the iMac for a fortnight and the use of no other installed software has produced this reaction.
Has anybody come across this, or found a way of doing better with linking a 3a to an Imac's OS9.2 environment? All advice will be gratefully received.
