I have a m505 (os4.1) with the Magellan GPS Companion and the Rand McNally StreetFinder software. I have the program loaded on internal memory while I'd like to keep all the maps on the 128MB SD card. Here's my problem:
I sync 60 maps on the sd card (~13MB), everything works fine.
I sync one more map (total of 61). When I go to launch StreetFinder and try to display a list of all the maps available, I get a Fatal Alert with just a reset button. Sometimes I have gotten a Fatal Alert with the following message 'MemoryMgr.c, Line:4415, Invalid handle'.
The Palm itself looks like it can read the data on the card correctly, it lists all the files available on the card.
I had performed a hard reset and installed StreetFinder first but I still had the same problem.
I did email Rand McNally about this and was told the following:
'We're not aware of anything like that being a problem. I'll try and recreate this here and if it is the same then I'll submit it as a bug. Sorry but unfortunately I don't have an answer for you right now. I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.'
This is either a bug in the StreetFinder software or maybe some kind of card reading conflict.
If anyone can provide any suggestions/ideas what to do or look at, i'd appreciate it.
Also, if anyone has StreetFinder and is able to have more than 60 maps on the sd card, please let me know also.
Thanks.
Anish
