I recently purchased a Toshiba e-310. I also bought a SanDisk 128 MB secured digital memory card for this unit. Soon after purchase the PDA began working incorrectly. I ended up sending it back for a refund and replacing it with the same model. The new one worked fine until I put the SD memory card into it, then all functions relating to the card once again fouled up. It was obvious the card was at fault and the technician from Toshiba then let me know that the SanDisk brand of SD card is known to have compatibility problems with not only Toshiba, but other brand PDAs as well. I went onto this bulletin board, and discovered that this incompatibility and malfunctioning issue with regard to SanDisk is well known.

The return window for the card was over a few days after purchase. I therefore turned to SanDisk. I E-mailed their tech support twice, about a week apart…no answer. I Faxed them…no answer. I finally called them and told them I was Fed up with their malfunctioning card and wanted a refund. They will not listen to that tho’. Instead, they insist on repairing or replacing the card. I do not want this card, who’s brand is not trustworthy in my PDA. I’m angry at this SanDisk company, and wish the world to know. Don’t buy SanDisk, for you’ll never be able to get your money back. You’ll be stuck with the expense of mailing back card after card knowing full well your data can never be trusted to the cards they make.

Avoid SanDisk is my strong advice!

If they will not refund your money I strongly recommend you get a replacement then. I have that exact card and I have not had any problems. SanDisk 128mb on a e310.

Thanks for that word of encouragement. I hope it does work. I have no choice but to accept a replacement, unfortunately.

FWIW,

This problem has come up several times before on other web sites. As I recall, the problem is with the e310, not the SanDisk card. Some e310s have problems with SanDisk (and a couple of others, sorry I forgot which), others don't. I'm lucky, my e310 and SanDisk card get along fine.

It's my second e-310, same card, and the card doesn't work. I hope the replacement is OK. But I'm inclined to believe the SanDisk people have some pretty shoddy quality control...

Sorry. But this is an issue with Sandisk 128 Mb. It happens not only in e310, it happens also if you are using them with a Toshiba e740.

I mentioned it at my site www.pc-counselor.8m.com/e740.htm

Thanks, I really feel it is the card, and I want nothing to do with the SanDisk. I finally got a return E-mail from SanDisk Tech support, after telling them how I planned to report their treatment on the bulletin board etc. They said they would give me a refund...! This is an exception to policy, and I do appreciate it very much. I jus ordered a Delkin 128 MB SD card. I hope for happy PDAing from here on out.

I have an E550g and the SD Card just vanished before my eyes! I tried 2 format software packages that could not see the card at all. I sent it in to SanDisk for a replacement. I hope the one I get works.

I have been using a SanDisk 256MB SD card with my e740 for 7 weeks now without a problem.

I'm truly happy for you. I still haven't gotten the money back for faulty card yet. They told me they'd give me a refund, but sent me a replacement instead, after I already bought another brand to replace the SanDisk card.

I'm glad yours works tho'. Wish I had had that luck myself. By the way, it was about 2 weeks into using mine that I began to notice it failing. Hopefully you won't have a similar outcome.

I also recently purchased the 128mb SanDisk. The number one reason for that was b/c they had a $20 rebate offer from JandR which is now over. Well, I'll get straight to the point. Shortly after i installed the memory, my pocket pc has been experience some E.T. stuff. I mean damn thing will not power off!! How crazy is that?? Powering the puppy on is no problem whatsoever but i can't seem to power it off. All this occurred after the SanDisk install....I then decided to do what most people do wit their window's O/S which is to reboot the sucker. REboot Reboot...Hard reset..Hard reset and then I let the damn thing drain out of battery. After 2 days of troubleshooting...i finally got my pda to turn off. I was wondering what kind of gliche is this?? Hardware ?? Software?? I mean...does this product actually do some damages to the pda itself? Should i return my pda for a new one now? Please don't flame at me for stupid questions...i'm still a noobie in this areana.

Thanx

Well in your case I don't think it's a problem with your SanDisk card. And you can check this point by using your pda without the card for a few days. I think that in your case you have a hardware problem with your pda and you should exchange it as soon as possible. ;)
