flip cover

I'm looking at either a Handspring 2mb Visor or a Palm m100 as my first PDA and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how convenient the flip cover on the m100 is compared to the snap cover on the Visor. Any info you could offer would be great and thanks in advance.

The flip cover on an M100 is terrible; threw it away within the week. On the other hand with the plastic screened m100 you don't really need a cover. Just give it its own pocket (in shirt, jacket or bag) and avoid keys. The handspring is much more vulnerable.
PS: go for the m105; 2MB is not enough

I agree. Get the m105 and you will be plenty happy.

Also, the m100 flip cover is horrible. Luckily, the m125 and m130 version isn't so bad.

I also found the Palm flip cover corners cracked off within a few weeks. I have used the leather snap cover made by Palm and it has worked great (hinged on the left side). It has a few slots to hold cards or notes. You can easily tear the unit off the velcro to put in your sync cradle. Personally, I like to get quick access, so zippered covers are not as convenient, unless you want more protection.

Yes. They also curve at the end to hug the hard buttons. Luckily, this doesn't create any real problems when laying the Palm on a flat surface with the flip cover back.

The M100's flip cover is a POS I tossed it within a week. But the good part is that I haven't had a single scratch in over a year just treat it right and you'll love you palm.
