Backlight

I have an IPAQ 3650 and I am having a problem with the backlight. Sometimes when I turn the IPAQ on the backlight setting does it's own thing and goes to the darkest setting. I must then reset it. Very annoying. It also happens sometimes when I go to change programs.
I have the newest upgrades of win2002, all current patches including the new bios patch. This has been going on for quite a while, before all the upgrades and I'm wondering if anyone has this problem or had it and fixed it.

The only thing that I could think of is it being the battery or you have it set to automatic.

Thanks, but neither is the case. My battery is okay and I don't have it set on automatic.

This can be related to the inverter. I've seen a lot of posts regarding iPAQ backlighting problems and the only sure fix seems to be shipping it in for repair.
