Fatal Exception on OS 4.1

I have an m505 with OS 4.1 installed and no third party software installed. I began having problems with getting Fatal Exceptions when removing my palm from it's cradle (which has the "E" designation). I have left it empty, except for what it ships with, to make sure that there couldn't be anything I put on there to cause problems. Now, after putting it in the cradle and removing it 6 or 7 times, I get that wonderful "Fatal Alert" window with only "Fatal Exception" in the window and nothing else. Does anyone have any ideas?

There are two catagories of causation:
1) Hardware. Least likely. Check the male and female universal connectors. Disconnect the cradle from the PC and try inserting and removeing the Palm. Anything "Fatal?"
2). Software. Go to your Palm Folder, then your Hotsync ID folder, then remane the "Backup" folder something like "ABackup."
Now do a Hard Reset, read the proceedure HERE. (http://discussion.brighthand.com/palmhandhelds/showthread.php?s=&threadid=989) . Now do a HotSync.

If the problem reoccurs it is most likely to be hardware.
