Just got my new TMobile PPC Phone and I must say I like it a lot. It has the functionality I needed and provides the phone access I need without having to carry 2 devices as I did before.

That said, it has 2 areas that I think need to be fixed. First is the low amount of memory. There is just no excuse for only having 32mb of RAM available when just about every other device out there is coming out with 64mb. Second is the crippled SDIO port. Why they designed it to support only memory and not other types of cards is beyond me. If this can be fixed with a firmware update, then it needs to be addressed immediately.

I agree about the RAM and the expansion slot. That being said, I did decide to utilize the SD slot and purchased a 128MB card. This is where I will store all of my addon information and files. I will reserve the 32MB for the programs.

I do wish that it had a Compact Flash slot as I have seen an 802.11b wireless NIC for that style of media. This would be tremendous for my wireless network installations. I don't see how a firmware upgrade would help with the expansion slot when the physical slot and electronics are in place. Oh well, I guess we need to wait for the next generation.

One thing that does take some getting used to. With my old Suncom phone, I had become a master of sending messages without looking at the phone. Now, since the keypad is a virtual one, there is no feel to the keys and I must use the stylus for the SMS messaging. I have adjusted, however.

...I meant a software update to the phone.

The more that I use the PDA/Phone, the more I find it indispensible. Now, if only I cant T-Mobile to fix their screwup and get my Internet connection turned on.
