Battery how flat can it go before data loss

Hi all.

When I am using the 3870 at 40% of battery life remaining I get a message that I should connect to a power supply to avoid data loss.

My question: How low can I go with the main battery supply (after the about message) rather at what percentage of battery supply does the world end?:confused:
