Have you try soft reset the ipaq? The iPAQ can be soft reset by pressing the tiny recessed button on the bottom of the unit.

This *could* be a fault of the older 37xx models. When is the last time you applied a new rom update, or any update at all on the ipaq? Just curious, because if you havent updated, that could be your problem right there.

i will just add, that the 'soft reset' has saved me from throwing my 3955 across the room..

the other day, my schedule alarm rang, and flashed its message on the screen. Then i turned it off as usual. After i went to work, i trie dto turn it on and it wouldnt go. I was extremely pissed, as my 3635 did this MANY times before, (wouldnt turn on) and i had to flup the little tab, and then switch it back (to reset it) .. well i knew nothign of the 'soft reset button on the bottom of my 3955, and i just happen to see the little inlet.. so i tapped it with my sylus as a last resort.. and BLAM~ it came up asking for my password, then it ran a calendar check and was fine! .. another day... i exited a game by pressing the 'Q' button.. the top level on my screen was all black, and the rest was normal.. i fooled arounda bit and couldnt get it back to regular .. i pressed the little inlet button and BLAM.. back to normal..

i guess this is the advantage to the later models...

Thanks a lot!

The only way i recover freezing is soft reset.
I tried to update rom to 2.20 but everytime i had a connection problem with usb and ipaq. There will be a possibility to recover the problem entirely by updating the rom but i couldnt achieve it either
