Dear All,
I am trying to connect my Revo to the NET through GPRS on my Siemens S45. I have installed the GPRS update sis.
So far no luck. Does any one know the appropriate settings? I have no problem connecting my laptop to S45 GPRS.
Thank you

Since you didn't state your location, or service provider details, I don't know if this will help, but here are the settings that I use on the UK's O2 network. My phone is Ericsson R520m. Obviously you will need to substitute with your own details for APN, user name, password, DNS address etc.
These settings have been tested and found to work on Psion netBook, RevoPlus and Ericsson MC218.
Modem settings:
Name: Ericsson GPRS
Speed: 57600 baud
Connect via: Infrared
Fax class: Auto
Loudspeaker: Never
Volume: Medium
Pause tiem: 4 seconds
Init (reset) string: AT+CGDCONT=1, "IP","mobile.o2.co.uk", ""
Data init. string: Blank
Fax init. string: Blank
Flow control: Hardware (RTS/CTS)
Terminal detect (DSR/DTR): Ticked
Carrier detect (DCD): Ticked
Modem type: Mobile
Internet settings:
Name: GPRS via o2
Connection type: Dial-up
Use smart dialling: Not ticked
Standard dial-up number: *99#
Manual login: Not ticked
Username: web
Password: password
Get IP adddress from server: Ticked
Primary DNS address: 193.113.200.200
Secondary DNS address: 193.113.200.201
Use login script: Not ticked
Enable PPP extensions: Ticked
Allow plain text authentication: Ticked
Use call back: Not ticked
Notes:
It was necessary to install GPRS update on the Psion, but then to DELETE the file C:\System\libs\irda.prt since it caused the IR port to be disabled.
APN and username on the phone (in this case "mobile.o2.co.uk" and "web") should match the entry on the Psion. Make sure you have been given these details for "Mobile Internet" and not WAP.
Best of luck - it's worth the effort once you have it working, trust me!

Thanks Julie,
however, different mobile phones require different modem settings. I actually have the GPRS dialup settings from my provider. in fact I connect just fine from my laptop :)
I just cant seem to find the S45 settings on the Net for Psion REVO. And my provider claims Psion is not supported. ^ ^
For those reading this forum, you may be interested in knowing I am using a Thailand provider/SIM card from Singapore. All other settings are the same except for the APN which has to be changed to a whatever is used locally. Like I say its works on my laptop.
The reason for the above arrangement is because GPRS roaming overseas as above between the 2 countries is free! (zero charges)(starhub and DTAC)
