IPAQ 3800 Frozen Solid

Been having some sync problems over the last few days - unit wouldn't end syncing despite the indicator saying it had finished. Had to eventually force it to stop. Then today I tried a soft reset and the screen froze on the pink and white Ipaq screen, refused to power off. Tried a hard reset, but although that closed the screen down the subsequent power up brought the same problem back of the frozen screen at the same spot. Anyone got any suggestions?

Got the same problem with a 3835 iPAQ. Frozen on Pink and White soft reset screen. Can't power it off/can't do hard re-set.
Is there a solution?

Well, I found out. The iPAQ battery dies, losing all memory and has to be recharged and everything reloaded.

The unit was stuck with the light on, so I tried letting the battery run down, but as soon as I put it back in the cradle the frozen IPAQ screen was back.

Response to a query raised with Compaq was next to useless as they suggested everything I had already done, even though I had told them I had done it in my query. The only thing left was to send it back, luckily it was just days within its warrany period, Phew!
