GSM on the 5450

i recently got an ipaq 5450, and since i live in the middle east, i wanted to activate the GSM on the ipaq (there's the slot there on the ipaq), but the problem is that i couldn't get it to work.
HP help did not help my there, if there's any one can help me here i'll be more than greatful.

Hi, I also face this problem for my new HP Ipaq 5450. Anyone could help on this??? There is a slot at the back of the set. I assume that is for the phone card, but when I slot in my GSM card, it doesn't work......... HELP !!!!!

Supposedly, the SIM slot isn't actually wired to anything internally. It's designed into the product because they'll be using the same shell for the GSM version of the future 5600 series which will run Pocket PC Phone Edition 2002 OS.
