I have 2 problems with my m125

1st. while in my pocket it mysteriously has an error come up on teh screen saying that it is unable to read card. Funny thing is it only has the blank palm card in the slot. Soft reset is needed before anything else can be done.

2nd. also while in my pocket the buttons get pressed from time to time and I have often taken it out of my pocket wondering how long it had been on only to find the batteries 1/2 dead. Could anyone suggest a program (one that works) to dissable the buttons across the bottom. You would think that Palm would put the option of none so that they would not turn the unit on when pressed.

Any help would be appreciated

1. I'm not quite sure why this is happening. For some reason, your Palm tries to read the card in your expansion slot. If I read correctly, the only card in there is the fake plastic one. That is why you get an error message.

2. This happens to many people. In the preferences application, there is an auto-off option. This makes it so your Palm will turn off at a set interval such as thirty seconds. The only thing that will happen is that sometimes your calendar or address book will be open when you turn on your Palm. The battery life will be saved though.

There is also a hack that will turn of the hard keys when your Palm is off. Actually, there was a thread about this very recently. A quick search will bring it up.

Good luck.

That isn't the only hack that does the job. There is PowerOn, which makes you press the power or hardware buttons twice within a second to power the Palm on. There is also StayOffHack, which allows you to disable all or some of the buttons, and also has a "wake button" which, when pressed with the power/application button, will let it turn on.

Actually, I have tried Disable Buttons v1.0 with my m125. The only problem with it is that it also disables the up button. This makes it so you cannot see the time without flipping up the flip cover and turning the Palm on. I don't know why the program was made this way.

Other than that, the program works fine.

StayOffHack allows you to keep certain buttons (including the up button) enabled.
