I installed Windows Media Player 8 on an iPaq 1910 from the CD that comes with the iPaq. It plays the welcome message fine but when I tried to play an MP3 file it stopped after 4 seconds and went back to the start. The iPaq shows the file as 2.3 megs and 2 minutes 33 seconds long. There is plenty of memory available. I have deleted and reloaded the MP3 file, and tried putting it on an SD card also. Still it will only play for 4 seconds. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Can't tell you why that happened, but you may want to try alternative mp3 player, try out these 2:

Pocketmvp which can also play some video files;

PocketMusic for people who like wimamp, this one support winamp playlist and skins

Thanks. I'll take a look at those. FYI:After using a soft reset it still does the same but now if I move the slider out just beyond the 4 second mark, then hit play it will play just fine. Maybe a glitch in the MP3 file? I can't find a setting in WMP8 that looks like the problem.

I've only had this iPaq 1910 a few days and have lots to learn but as of now I think it is great. Well worth the money.

FYI: I downloaded and installed PocketMusic and it works great. Thanks again for the suggestion. :D
