Nothing in the manual that we can find. Want to access and send e-mail from the 330. digidep 02-11-2003, 09:48 AM with the applications shipped with the i330, the only way to send email is when syncing with the desktop. or you can use a web base email in Blazer. though what you want is an 3rd party email client for the palm (like Eudora *free*) you can use sprint's smtp server to send email. in: pop.sprintpcs.com out: smtp.sprintpcs.com login: username pswd: created in settings of webmail (www.sprintpcs.com) digidep macmetal666 02-13-2003, 11:35 PM digidep got it right, but remember the only alert you will get is if you check your email. gumbobtr 02-15-2003, 12:28 PM Kris, You mentioned the only notification for e-mail is when you log in to check mail. Is this true with Eudora as well? The SprintPCS customer service folks told me I can set my profile to alert when a message comes in. However, they are unble to get my mail working so I have no idea how all of this works. I did pick up an i330 but I can not get into the web email at SprintPCS. They are saying it will take 5 to 7 days to fix it. Seems to me Sprint is only interested in selling these phones to the casual user that can tolerate one week down times and have no real intention of selling them to corporate users that need to have reliable service. If I told my customers they would be down for a week I would be fired before I finished the sentence. Sorry for the vent but Sprint is beginning to get on my nerves digidep 02-19-2003, 02:10 PM you can set notification (text message) when you receive mail @sprintpcs.com digidep Frank1894 02-19-2003, 03:04 PM Eight steps to end an email from your phone. 1) Select the Sprint Web function on yor phone. 2) Select "@sprint pcs" 3) Select "sprint pcs mail" 4) Select compose 5) Select "subj" 6) select "to" 7) select Msg" 8) select "send" :) Frank1894 02-19-2003, 03:13 PM Sorry my last message was eight steps to send an email with your phone, not end an email. No syncing is required, thus the beauty of wireless. Email on sprint works well, messaging is a a "Black Art" avoid the frustration, use the email. Messaging is agood idea, to bad it does not work. I wish Sprint would stop selling the benefits of something that does not work..... gumbobtr 02-19-2003, 04:20 PM Thanks Frank, I have mail working using Eudora to sprintpcs and my home provider. No problem. I need alerts. Either when a one way text message is sent to messaging.sprinpcs.com or to account@sprintpcs.com. The phone alerts from voicemail and alerts from the "I forgot my password" function from the web site. Every time I call Sprint I find a new problem with my phone or account. I am convinced Sprint has NO idea what they are doing and how to run a business. Every time call I am told something different and to date I do not think I have been told hte truth about any of it. Now I notice my bill for 3 days of service is a full month going back to January, even before I knew the i330 even existed. Sprint is USELESS. David gumbobtr 02-19-2003, 06:19 PM An update from useless Sprint. They are saying alerts and messaging are intermittent because of their server upgrade. And because of this they will NOT troubleshoot my problem. The funny thing is the phone tech could send his phone an SMS message and it worked within seconds. Mine failed to go through, but it failed because of the upgrade. For people that say SMS does not work on the i330 I have an app for you. http://www.pdaapps.com/I330SmsApp/default.html 2-way SMS. The Sprint guy gave me this pointer. My response to him was at least one way messaging works because the author of the apps was able to test his app. Of course he does add a disclaimer, his app depends on the sprintpcs web site. I am floored by the lack of care and concern from the Sprint phone reps. and the local store. I can not recall ever dealing with a company that has less concern for their customers then Sprint as shown. Pathetic. gumbobtr 02-19-2003, 10:23 PM Wow. Sprint has just confirmed my belief they are the worst cell company around. After hearing people say to stay away and reading tons of web sites about the lies lack of service I had to find out for myself. Let me tell you, it is all true. To tell you how bad they are the department to handle cancellations is called the "retention department". What a joke, after the tech/sales people lie about the service and then when you finally take all you can take they pass you to a department that tries to convince how great they are. It is a real shame that Samsung has such a great device and they put it into the hands of such incompetent people. Now I have to laugh. It took Sprint 3 or 4 days to get my e-mail working but once I cancelled it took them about 2 minutes to turn it off. Maybe the folks in the "retention department", should be working on the messaging system macmetal666 02-19-2003, 10:42 PM AND YOU THINK WORKING FOR SPRINT PCS IS EASY? THE ONLY THING THEY KNOW HOW TO DO ARE BUDGET CUTS AND LAYOFFS. i am sorry i have worked for this company for over 5 years, but the $$$ is good. sprint cares nothing about its customers, even less for is employees. as for the server upgrde(pardon my french) but this is FIRST CLASS PURE USDA GRADE A 100% CERTIFIED BULL CRAP. apparently sprint is giving you guys the "bailout"...sprint instucts their call center reps. to tell customers that ask why somthing soesnt work that " the computers are down from server upgrades." they must have some bitchin computer setup by now with the all the upgrades they have done over the last 3 years. engine000 02-28-2003, 12:51 PM Originally posted by Frank1894 Eight steps to end an email from your phone. 1) Select the Sprint Web function on yor phone. 2) Select "@sprint pcs" 3) Select "sprint pcs mail" 4) Select compose 5) Select "subj" 6) select "to" 7) select Msg" 8) select "send" :) Hi Frank, I can't seem to find the Sprint Web function on my i330. I only have 'Mail' & 'Blazer'. Please help. Thanks in advance! celticmagick333 02-28-2003, 06:51 PM I'm not sure what Frank is talking about, possibly the old PCS web and not the new Vision format. The only way I know how to send email from the i330 is from a third party email program. For some reason under the "Messaging" icon of the PCS web for Vision, Sprint does not provide access to your email like you had on the old PCS Web. It only gives options for the Business deal. Best Regards, Jason engine000 03-01-2003, 01:45 AM Gotcha Jason. Thanks! ronboykin 03-22-2003, 02:39 AM To do email on the I330 you have to dowload Eudora Suite 2.1 free and configure it with your sprint pop3 email server. Set up a password in you sprintpcs account, then match your phone's email password to your sprintpcs account. Easy!! The I330 does not send SMS text messaging. I do believe it only receives it. But there's a few third party programs that let you do it. Sorry folks, you can't access your sprintpcs account directly on your I330. It's just not designed with the integration of, say, the Kyocera 6035 or other 3G Sprint phones. I don't seem to have any problems with Sprint people. They seem to treat me very good. Good luck all Ron Boykin PDA Street
