Hello. I received a m125 free with the purchase of a new Dell computer. Is there any good tutorial websites or FAQ's for new users? I have several questions.
1) The data on the screen is hard to see if you don't hold the Palm at just the right angle. Are the color screens or "newer" models better?
2) Is there a way to tell how much "memory" is left on the unit?
TIA

Hi Rich,
First of all, welcome to PDASTREET. I think that you will find this board a wonderful resource for new and veteran pda users. No question is too easy or too dumb to be asked here. Besides pdastreet, I have found technobrains (http://www.technobrains.com) to be very helpful. I have always gotten a helpful and accurate response within a couple of hours and they don't have any advertising or reviews, so it loads up quickly and is easy to navigate.
As far as being able to see your screen, try darkening up your contrast. To the right of the graffiti area you will see a circle that is half filled in. Touch that and then you can adjust your contrast. Although I have and prefer a color screen, I think black and white are actually easier to read than are the color.
To tell how much memory you have left on your 125, touch the drop down menu (lower left silkscreen button), touch info, and there you have it.
One thing you might want to consider is picking up a memory card. I am sure you will find tons of free downloads to add to your new toy. I know I did (and still do).

Also, I am not sure if you are in an area with low light, you might want to turn on the backlight, kind of like indigo wathces. Just hold down the power button. This makes it easy to read at night.
Yes, there are color versions and I believe they are better, but play around with the free monochrome PDA for now and see where it takes you.
Welcome.

Thank you for the replies they were very helpful. Another question: Do you find the "canned" apps (address book, date book, etc) to be adequate, or did you delete them and use something else?
TIA
Rich
I find them very useful for my needs, but a lot of people use 3rd party stuff like Agendus, Actionnames, DateBK5, etc.
