I am looking at buying m105 for son for school. He's computer saavy but has writing problems. Is there anything I need to know about this pda and Windows XP on a DELL 8200 laptop?

Thanks

First, check if your school allows PDAs. many dissalow these devices without a 504 plan or equivalent. Windows XP should not have problems with Palm Desktop, and in any case there are third party applications (Palm Install, Palm Xfer) which can simulate the functionality of Palm Desktop.

Note: if the school disallows PDAs, some graphing calculators, such as the TI-89, allow special keyboards to be used, and can simulate many of the functions of a PDA (I should know, as I have one. and have made my own keyboard for it.)

:) Thanks Peregrine. My son does indeed have an IEP (same as 504). Much to our surprise, the pda and computer made pals instantly. He's quite happy as the thought of carrying around a laptop wasn't too appetizing.
